I am getting soooo tired of seeing blogs idolizing famous black people just because they are black. No, of course you can’t focus on their talents or skills, only the fact they are BLACK. Like really people, do you guys really think your bringing “social justice” to the world by doing this?? As somebody who is black, I find it OFFENSIVE when you people say stuff like “Look at Lupita, she is a proud black woman fighting against white supremacy!” REALLY?? Look I get what you people are trying to do, but only focusing on her because she is black and not because she is a wonderful actress IS RACIST!!!
I also find it offensive when people say stuff like “Omg ur white so you need to accept your white privilege and never complain about anything ever lol ew white ppl loooool” or another comment I saw earlier that went something like this “Saying you shouldn’t judge white people because they are white is a dumb argument white people deserve to be hated” OMG ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS?? I swear to god you butts are trying to make people be racist towards us! Racism isn’t a freaking competition on who can be more oppressive, yet you poo-poo heads keep acting like it is. If you want to fight racism, you can’t do it by being racist and judgmental to other races. ACCEPTANCE, LOVE, AND EDUCATION (three words that seem foreign to a lot of you…) is the way to do it. Get your act together, y’all.
If Lupita Nyong’o loses Best Supporting Actress on Sunday, we shouldn’t hate Jennifer Lawrence for it.
Actresses aside, there’re some really interesting points in this article. And it reminds me why I hate media-led people bashing/ mean-girling - it just becomes a vehicle for vicarious bullying, and an excuse for people to needlessly turn onto each other.
I feel sad that this is what happens with the whole Hollywood media system, that for a competition of ACTORS, one has to bash and berate the top dog even if said top dog has her merits. Why not just celebrate them all? And I feel sadder that this is mainly happening to the women in the industry. You seriously do not see this happening for the Actor category.
Oscar nominees Best Animated Feature 2014
Earlier today this article was brought to my attention, in which it becomes clear that some of the Academy voters have little to no respect for the animation industry. They openly admit not having watched the nominated films and/or claiming that animated films are for kids, so they didn’t vote. Even the ones shown in the article that did vote barely motivated their choice.
I find this extremely disrespectful of the animators who poured their heart and soul into making these movies, only to have their work be pushed aside without a second glance by the judges of one of the most prominent and well known film awards out there. As an aspiring animator, I am deeply insulted.
Please note that in this post I am expressing no opinion on whether Frozen should have won or not. I think it’s a wonderful film, just as all the other nominees. I am simply saying that we deserve better.
What they did is disrespectful to the creators of every single one of these films, even Frozen. By barely motivating their choice, they make it look like they voted for Frozen simply because of Disney’s status in the industry. Because it’s Disney, and it made a lot of money, so it had to be at least somewhat good. To me it seems like some of the voters just defaulted to voting for the Disney film, and nobody likes to win by default.
Don’t get me wrong, I too have been guilty of loving Disney simply because it’s Disney, but there is so much more beautiful animation out there and it deserves to be taken into consideration. And if Frozen won, it should have won because the majority of the voters thought it was the best film, not because part of the voters was too lazy to even watch the nominated films.
This is one of the reasons The LEGO Movie hit wayyy closer to home than Frozen to me. Instead of a problem that only tackles some few, selected people, you can’t deny that at least at one point you have looked at yourself and felt worthless because everyone around you outshines you even in the things you’re good at.
That’s one of the reasons this movie made me legitimately cry in the theater, that, and due to the fact that the moral that accompanies this is much more empowering than just “letting it go”.
And let’s talk about that facial expression at the end like I didn’t know a lego could make me cry.
I feel like it was meant for college students

Frozen (forgotten clip) "That’s No Blizzard, That’s My Sister!"
So strange watching this scene from Frozen now. It’s so different and shows how the movie would’ve looked if Elsa WAS the evil one. It doesn’t even have the “frozen hair” bit that Anna had. O_o
How have I never a seen this?!
aaaand I had another orgasm
Yeah, I definitely would have prefered to see this version where Anna is trying to turn Elsa back to the good side or something. Would’ve defintiely been a stronger movie for me.
Bee death = Ecosystem death = Human death.
Bees be really cool critters rapidly being decimated in large numbers but pesticides and parasites, due to large companies acting in non-ecological ways. Read up on the bees. Save the bees!
Since this situation is extremely dire, I am willing to keep reminding everyone about it. Even you can google for tutorials of how to build a homemade house for bees! I will add link later in my sidebar.
Save the bees, save the world.
Kaoru Mori drawing a “sketch” for a fan. Also, check out the process videos of her pencilling and inking a gorgeous piece of this same character from her manga “A Bride’s Story”
Man, when you have a good sense of what to do, all you need for a sketch is just one rough head construction. The rest is magic! Check out those other videos too!
