just realized the slap bass sample in megaman X is the same one as in the seinfeld theme song
What in the world…
No.
Reblogging for my own archives.
Sorry to those who was in my town >_< I was AFK-ing and when I got back, there was a connection problem. Dunno what happened. Sorry about all that. Gate is open again.
Leaving my gate open while I’m working. It’s raining here. Also 11am, so my Re-Tail is still open as are other shops. #ACNL
But I guess I should count my lucky stars… getting 210 backers in half a month is still a feat and it is a successful pledge. Man, artists are so whiny… appreciate what you have, bitch! *talking to self*
Heh, I dunno why I use tumblr to promote anything of my stuff anymore…
Opening up the gate to Ginger town! All are welcome to plunder!! (though we’ve got nothing. I kinda shook the trees out yesterday so it’ll need time to fruit up again)
So, yeah, I saw Man of Steel today. I gotta say it’s a very enjoyable flick, it’s jam packed with action and has a very coherent plot with some emotional moment to back it up. My problem with it is that it doesn’t feel Superman.
*MIGHT GET SPOILER-ISH AFTER THIS*
And no, I’m not talking about the ending. I just feel like a lot of the stuff Superman took to doing in this movie didn’t feel very Superman-ish. Sure, self-sacrifice, saving people and all that, he does that, but he also practically brought a fight to a populated area… that’s not a very Superman thing to do. As for the ending, I understand how it could happen that way but I see a million 3rd options for him as well. I’m just reminded of the Superman story “What’s so funny about Truth, Justice and the American Way” when that part at the end happened and what Superman said in that comic. I know people are gonna say he has no choice or this is his learning curve, I totally understand, I just don’t feel it’s the necessary “only option”. Anyways, I’m not gonna go into it much cos I wanna try my best not to spoil though I gather people can figure out what’s happening from my hinting, but ehhh.
Another thing I wish they’d hold off is the romance sub-plot. Yeah, we all know it’s gonna happen but the way it suddenly happened felt a bit too desperate for me. They should’ve just hold it off for the next movie.
But, I can also see the kids of today backing up this movie because it is definitely catered to that kind of mindset… I just wish they’d keep the feeling of SUPERMAN that I’ve grown up and believed in. One thing I liked about Superman Returns is that Superman feels like Superman when he’s out being Superman (Stalker Superman aside that is, that part still kinda makes me cringe)
*IN CONCLUSION*
Overall, it’s still a good movie, entertaining popcorn flick with content, definitely didn’t regret seeing it in the cinema and I didn’t think it’s a waste of time to watch it, just, be open minded going into it if you’re a big fan of Superman since the olden days.
Edit: Oh, on the bright side, I don’t mind the costume so much anymore.
